About two years before our engagement, Jassher and I were walking through the Hastings Rose Gardens and I thought he was acting a little nervous, as if there was something on the tip of his tongue. He gave me a Double Delight rose that he had illegally plucked from the gardens. It became our favourite flower.
Graham and I met 11 years ago, when a band he manages was playing in my hometown, but it wasn’t until a few years later, when a friend re- introduced us that we got together and fell in love. Moral of the story: you may meet your soulmate and not even know it until years later!
Will and I first met through a friend at a gallery opening about five years ago in London. We got along really well but I was on a date with someone else! Three months later, I ran into a group of friends at a pub who were celebrating Will’s birthday.
We met by chance in 2013. I was living in New York and had been sent to Hong Kong on a two-week business trip. I met Carteneil, who lived in Hong Kong, only three days after I arrived and knew immediately that I needed to extend my trip.
We first met in 2003 during our first year at the University of Auckland. I was dating someone else at the time. Nothing happened until two years later, when I saw Josh at a birthday party and he sent a friend over to ask if I was single. Fortuitously, this time I was.
Tell us about your background and who is behind ‘Watch My Wedding’?
My background is in graphic design and marketing, so they are the skills that I now bring to the business. My husband and business partner is what you’d call ‘the brains of the business’. He came up with the idea originally, and has created bespoke software and hardware to offer a unique service for couples who want to live-stream their wedding. His background is in software engineering and has been coding since he was 9 years old.

We first met before we even knew how to walk. Our parents met each other in a hill station in India called Mussoorie, when we were both just short of one year old. We then met again when we were in third grade, we went to a small school in New Delhi. I was Jordy’s first crush, but back then I was terrified of little boys, especially him. We were in school together for three years, then home-schooled separately, and I moved to Thailand for high school. We had no contact with each other during that time at all, then in 2011 I went with my family on a rafting trip in India and Jordy and his dad were on the same trip. The first day I just observed him making everyone laugh and being friends with everyone. We were all sitting in a big group and he stopped and looked and me and said, “Do you ever talk?” I started laughing and then wouldn’t shut up the rest of the trip, and that was the beginning of us.
