Hosting intimate events and teaching others is not something new for Shaye Woolford, having been a long time partner of Kinfolk magazine co-running workshops and dinners on behalf. Recently, Shaye has introduced another facet to her business – inspirational workshops at her shared studio in Tauranga. Studio 145 is a collaborative workspace, which Shaye shares with photographers and event managers. Given its central city location, it’s the perfect spot for her workshops. Shaye hosted her first workshop last Sunday – Flower Potluck.

“I want to teach others the basic principles of caring for cut flowers, inspire them to use what’s in their garden or neighbourhood to creatively put together a seasonal arrangement that suits their home,” says Shaye. “Flowers shouldn’t be boring, or scary, and while I fully advocate using a professional when the event requires, often a few little tricks can be learnt so that one can always have freshness in the home. In November, I’m hosting a Flower Crowns for Friends workshop, where I’ll teach groups of girlfriends to make their own crown for a hen’s night or engagement party.

Shaye has released three more different floral-focused workshops during the months of October and November, with the next workshop this Sunday, 11th of October – A Flower Afternoon.

Over time, the team at Studio 145 will be bringing through guest creatives to host workshops on various mediums; food stylists, floral stylists, designers and business folk.
