Together Journal Issue #4

And so the adventure continues!

It really does feel like our most adventurous issue yet – with the help of our well-travelled contributors and intrepid newlyweds we take you to some of the world’s most exotic locations; Iceland, India, Mexico, Turkey and Panama to name but a few, while of course still remembering our roots and supplying a healthy dose of inspiration from both our home country New Zealand and our friendly Australian neighbours.

We did of course still make sure to stop and smell the roses – or jasmine and magnolia in this case, in our interview (on page xx) with Saskia Havekes of Grandiflora. Saskia is one of our flower heroes, with four books under her belt, a booming floral business touted as Sydney’s finest as well as an exquisite range of fragrances and scented candles.

As well as spending time chatting to us, Saskia teamed up with her husband (in true Together Journal style) Gary Heery, a world-renowned photographer, to produce an extraordinary beautiful floral showcase aptly named ‘Flowers on Ice’ (page 40), which we feel extremely privileged to be featuring.

We eat cake with Jordan Rondel, aka The Caker, talk shoes with designer Kathryn Wilson, glean tips on how to plan a wedding in a hurry from wedding gift entrepreneur Milly Nolan – and you may have noticed as well as adding a bit of shine to our cover we’ve also grown a little thicker round the middle. Must be all that cake.

A heartfelt thank you to all the brands and contributors who so loyally stand by our side as well as to you, the reader, who so enthusiastically and regularly buys, shares and loves Together Journal. We’re as passionate as ever about creating this global wedding magazine and community and we get such a kick out of seeing our magazines in cafes and on coffee tables all over the world, from Nelson to New York City.
