Tell us a little about yourselves, what you do, what you love, what is unique about you and your relationship… We met at work many years before we became a couple and were quickly inseparable as platonic ‘work spouses’. We still work together and wouldn’t have it any other way.

Michael proposed while on vacation in Seoul over coffee and the Saturday quiz – I had no idea what was happening when he kept pushing me to open our notebook. I found a picture of a ring and still didn’t catch on, he had to push it in front of me several times before I realised it was a ring he’d purchased – my dream ring!  We celebrated the day with a stroll in Seoul and the rest of the day was blur.

Tell us about your special day, was there a specific theme or style? Tell us a little about the setting, the styling and some of your favourite details…Each moment of our day was incredibly special, from waking up to find a bunch of lavender and an apple picked by Michael.  My bouquet being delivered by my Aunt from a neighbouring county and an incredibly relaxing massage and hyrospa at the Barnsley House Spa.

However, it was the intimacy that made it so unique, with only six guests we were lucky enough to be able to include each guest in our ceremony – our celebrant told a funny story about each of them, since our families had not previously met he was able to break the ice and create a really fun atmosphere for everyone.

Dinner was similarly intimate and lavish, since the party was small enough.  The guests could order from the A La Carte menu and then were treated to a special selection of local an international cheeses paired with French wine.  The old house feel, and intimate seating just made it feel extra special and will be remember for all our lives.

Tell us about your main outfits: Michael wore a tailored Zink & Sons suit that he had wanted for years.  A dark tweed green, 3-piece suit and shoes from one of our travels to Hong Kong – very dapper! I kept it very simple with a two-piece set – a Sarah Seven skirt and a custom tailored top.  Both outfits just suited the casual feel and location.

What were some of the most memorable/unique moments from the day? Having Lina whisk us away for a while for photos was one of the moments we will always treasure, having that time together to let the day sink in and walk in the country side, venture through some farmers fields, and just soak in the ambiance of the area.  Lina’s approach was incredible, she just made us feel so comfortable – like the camera wasn’t even there.

Any advice for other couples planning to spend the rest of their lives together? Our day was perfect for us, it was so simple and stress-free because we didn’t allow the ‘wedding pressure’ to get to us and cloud our judgment on what we wanted.

It’s so easy to get caught up in the details when the important thing is the commitment you are making to each other.  The day is for you to remember and enjoy, so make sure you don’t get caught up in the hype of others.
