Iva—I am a television host and Igor is a scientist and a hot air balloon pilot. We love traveling, and the special little things in life, like having friends over for dinner or a bottle of good wine. And yes, we’re suckers for adventure!

Being a professional hot air balloon pilot, Igor has taken us on numerous adventures around the globe where we have enjoyed living life with our wings spread. We are planning on getting married soon in a museum surrounded with close family and friends. Well, there’s 80 people on our list so far, and it’s really hard to contain that number! Italy is our all-time favourite country, so everything will be in tricolore with loads of details from the many Italian adventures we have shared there. Everything from food to decorations will be in Italian style and we can’t wait. We plan to have a very private family wedding in a church overlooking the amazing tree-lined boulevard first. This will be followed by a symbolic ceremony which will include all our friends at the museum. We met in Croatia, in the national television company building where I worked, when Igor was invited to speak at a show. We started dating soon afterwards and time went by so fast. He proposed with a ring made from a champagne cork after we landed from our hot air balloon ride in Umbria, Italy. The ring was replaced by a proper one a bit later. I love Igor’s sense of humour and openness. He loves my honesty and playful spirit. Igor is pretty much chaotic and disorganised, which is unusual for a successful scientist. I’m more of a write-it-all-down kind of person which makes us a perfect match! I’d say we fill in each other’s gaps, which is why we’re stronger together. Life without someone special is like a television with no colour or a bird without its wings. Having someone you love by your side gives you a reason to get up in the morning and a drive to move on when clouds darken the skies. Marko (the photographer) is going to be shooting our wedding, too. Marko was completely unobtrusive during our shoot and all of the shots were made while we were walking around Siena or Tuscany. It felt like we were taking a vacation with a photographer who’d snap a shot every now and then and take us to beautiful spots like that unforgettable church in the sunset. The way Marko sees things is unique. I can’t wait to see his photos of our wedding!
