Tell us a little about yourselves, what you do, what you love, what is unique about you and your relationship… We first met in a nightclub on the Gold Coast back in our uni days, we soon learned we were very different so it would be really exciting or really bad.

Over the years we complimented as a couple working with and learning off each other’s strengths: Vichheka is great at remembering things which has helped her immensely through uni cramming for exams. Anthony is more of a thinker and likes to understand how things work and how it can be improved.

Vichheka doesn’t care too much about what other people think and can sleep easy whereas Anthony can’t help but try to look at it from the other perspective and loses sleep over it. Vichheka likes to make quick decisions whereas Anthony likes to carefully find and choose from his options.

Tell us about your special day, was there a specific theme or style? Tell us a little about the setting, the styling and some of your favourite details… We had no idea on the theme, all we knew was that we wanted to be different from the mainstream, keep it pretty chilled, clean and not over the top.

After a couple of meetings with Danielle (white+white), she helped us come up with a list of details we wanted: white and green, chandeliers, cherry blossoms, white roses, checkered dance floor and then she worked her magic putting everything together, eg cake on the swing under the tree, big floral background for our ceremony (which was later used for our photobooth backdrop).

Tell us about your main outfits: Going with our chilled and simple vibe we wanted to make sure we could be comfortable all night. Vichheka didn’t want to have to change outfits and credit to Keooula, she was able to wear it all night and most importantly, for our first dance.

Anthony’s suit was made to measure with the help of one of his groomsmen and close mate Nami from GRANDPA Artillery. Great excuse to fly down to Melbourne for a weekend catch up.

Anthony’s quite particular but already had some idea of what he wanted, with the help of Nami’s fashion sense they were able to come up with something straight away typical of men they only took half an hour to pick something out. Particularly loved the idea of the quick jacket change from black to white.

What were some of the most memorable/unique moments from the day?Watching one of our closest friends emcee for our reception. Initially, he was very reluctant when we first asked him because he’s never done anything like it before and he didn’t want to disappoint us, it took us a few weeks of convincing.

On the night he certainly stepped up and set the tone for the night, as the night went on and a few drinks later he quickly evolved from a formal speaker to the life of the party (basically from sober to drunk).

A few of our friends got up to sing for us.

After all the formalities were over we were finally able to let loose and relax, that’s when we realised our day was almost over, we wished we could do it all again. For the rest of the night we wanted our DJ to play music from our good ol’ clubbing days, something all our guests thoroughly enjoyed reminiscing to.

Any advice for other couples planning to spend the rest of their lives together? I guess for us being together for 10 years before getting married helps but the fact that we’re still learning from each other and sharing new experiences makes it exciting looking forward into our future.

They say marriage is a lot of work but I guess our advice is don’t look at it as work because eventually work leads to retirement. Keep it simple, do whatever makes you, your other half and both of you happy.
