What will they do next? A question that is always on the lips in the build up to fashion week and more often than not directed at WORLD Brand Factory of Ideas and Experiments. New Zealand’s only true luxury avant-garde fashion brand took their SS 2018 collection to the runway and delivered yet another delightfully, imaginative and entertaining show for those who were lucky enough to secure a seat at their sell out show. Proving that apparently a leopard can change its spots, guests were treated to sparkling animal prints, bold floral patterns, luxurious textured woven cloths and plenty of sparkly appliqués and sequins.

There were several highlights for us, John Reynolds Art worked in collaboration with the WORLD Brand team to create a collection of wacky, artistic and fun placards which the models walked the catwalk with. The slogans were a mix of dry and humous original sayings with some lightly touching on political topics in a way that made you smile and give thought to the odd issue too.

We also loved the hair and makeup created by Michael Beel working with Loreal on the hair and makeup Directed by Kiekie of MAC Cosmetics. The hair consisted of slicked coloured glitter styles and half circle glitter covered domes. The makeup featured bold and bright two-tone glitter lips in contrasting colours with a nude eye and thick fluttery lashes. The stuff that dreams are made of. While these may not be your go-to wedding or occasion looks they were perfect for the catwalk and we can still draw inspiration from them.

We also commend WORLD Brand for choosing to donate lunches to kids in need via Eat My Lunch rather than gift goodie bags.

All in all WORLD Brand delivered one of our favourite shows of the week. And our pick for occasion wear is the pink and green shiny leopard print styles. Perfect for maids or guests at slick city or cocktail weddings.
