Karen Walker releases her ‘Animal Magic’ collection, in support of SPCA NZ for which she’s an ambassador.
Animal Magic draws on Karen Walker icons rendered bold and fresh in chic navy, black and blues. The print adorns the dog walkers’ rain poncho, a cap, a sun hat, a dog bandana, a graphic print T-shirt and two styles of bamboo reusable cups, as well as bone china mugs which also feature the signature print in gold outline. A cobalt blue leather dog collar and leash with dashing bows and gold metal hardware complete the four-legged gifting options.
Between 6 November and 31 December Karen and her team’s goal is to raise NZ$20,000 in order to fund the SPCA National Rescue Unit (NRU) for one year. The NRU is comprised of a group of internationally qualified emergency response volunteers, including inspectors, who provide a technical rescue service for trapped animals, as well as those affected by natural disasters.
The money raised by the Karen Walker community will enable the purchase of vital pieces of equipment that NRU require for technical rescues including a drone to be used for cliff ascensions and animal location identification, various ropes and pulley parts to be able to complete more complicated rope work and an outboard motor for their boat to assist with water rescues.
To raise the NZ$20,000, Karen will be donating 15% of the sale price of every Animal Magic item sold until 31 December 2019 and her retail stores will be offering a special edition gift wrap for a gold coin donation as well as encouraging donations into SPCA collection buckets in-store.
