For our first digital beauty editorial of the year we have created a Chic Luxe look. This is for the woman who has cocktail parties and events to attend or for the bride who prefers a more feminine directional fashion look. There are two other looks from this shoot which will be shared over the coming weeks. See below beauty notes and product information…
Great makeup starts with great skincare. When skincare and makeup are used in unison that is when the magic happens! Your makeup will look better and last longer.
Using a cotton pad our artist Olivia applied to clean dry skin the Estée Micro Essence. Not only does this essence provide a hydrating plumping effect to the skin, it also has a soothing and calming consistency with a fresh and light texture.
Estée Lauder Revitalizing Supreme + Global Anti-Aging Cell Power Creme is a favourite, complete with sodium hyaluronate which is a moisture magnet. It helps bind water to the skin creating maximum hydration and plumpness. The texture feels lush like velvet, and its very rich, you only need to use sparingly. Its perfect both under makeup or used as a night cream.
Curling the lashes will both define your eyes and make them stand out. Olivia our artist always uses an eyelash curler to create lift and definition to the eye.
Artist tip: Curl the lashes in three sections starting at the base of the lash and hold for five seconds, then the middle of the lash, continuing to the end for five seconds each.
To brighten and smooth the skin we applied Estée Lauder Illuminator using a foundation brush over the moisturiser which gave the skin a healthy glow as well as a smooth base for foundation prep.
We used a small amount of the Bare Minerals Bare Pro Foundation from Mecca focusing on the centre of the face and then we blended out. This oil free formulation is not only lightweight it also provides a full-coverage with a soft-focus finish. This foundation also self-setting and transfer resistant making it a great option to wear on your wedding day.
As this look is more suited to an evening event we wanted to create definition and lift for Verena’s complexion by sculpting and highlighting.
One of the prettiest highlighting Duos out there, we applied the Guerlain Holographic Meteorites High Lighter Duo. Using a sheer powder brush we applied to the high points on the cheeks. We also think this French deco-inspired highlighter would be a beautiful touch up compact to use on your wedding day. Its beautiful on the skin and the packaging and product itself is so pretty you will want to include it in your wedding detail shots.
To sculpt Verena’s cheeks we applied the deeper tone in Tom Ford Shade & Illuminate in ‘Intensity Two’ just under the cheek bones and patted the illuminator a little higher. The texture is creamy and blends in easily to the skin. Olivia recommends using a beauty blender to ensure the overall look is seamless. When you sculpt blending is key!
For this look we wanted Verena’s eyes to be the focus so we created a luxe smokey eye using browns and golds.
We used the Tom Ford Eye Quad in ‘Golden Mink’. First Olivia blended the brown shadow over the lid, then pressed the gold and peach sparkle in with her fingertips to layer and create an elevated evening look.
Tom Ford create the most beautiful palettes, not only are the formulations excellent the product is luxurious and aesthetically pleasing. They are the perfect travel companion as they help you downsize your makeup bag.
From the root to the tip Olivia applied Hour Glass Caution Extreme Lash Mascara which is available at Mecca. Olivia recommends layering 2 – 3 coats for ultimate nightime event lashes. The mascara applies smoothly, and delivers great length and volume.
Artist tip: Olivia has been trialing the Hourglass Caution Extreme Lash Mascara herself since we produced this beauty shoot and she has been impressed with the formulation and the wand, its a new favourite of hers and now a staple in her makeup kit.
For the lips we used Bobbi Brown’s new Crushed Liquid Lip in the shade ‘Smoothie Move’. Olivia blotted the excess product off leaving a beautiful and feminine stain upon the lips.
The Bobbi Brown crushed liquid lip has an interesting formulation. It has the pigment of a liquid lipstick, comfort and feel of a lip balm complete with a glossy finish.

Healthy glowing skin and a luxe smokey eye in brown & gold tones is a winning combination to wear for your wedding day or any celebrations leading up.
