Din — To me, it wasn’t a single moment but as time went on anytime I thought about my future she was always part of it. You suddenly come to the realisation that life without this person won’t be what you want it to be, so I dirtied my knee and popped the question.
Intimate, classic, and timeless was the key vision for the wedding day, I wanted a day that we could look back on in decades to come and admire the elegance and beauty in the simplicity.
I always thought I would get married covered in lace. I’m Sicilian, it’s one of our traditional crafts! I went to a few different ateliers, tried many lace gowns, and... The spark just wasn’t there. Then we went to a multi-brand atelier in Milan, where I laid my eyes on a simple, sleek princess gown made of stiff silk. It was like Belle’s iconic yellow dress in Beauty and the Beast but in white. The sleeves, the train, the folds. Everything was just perfect. I didn’t cry, but my mother and cousins who were there with me did, so I knew I had made the right choice, then and there.
On surface we have quite different personalities and interests, but I realised very quickly that we complemented each other and that he was my person.
Nerida – Hamish works in infrastructure – planning roads and trains and the like – and I’m a clinical psychologist. We have a shared passion for going on adventures, but we’re equally happy being social and active or just curled up on the couch with a great glass of red, a cheese platter and a great movie! We also have a shared love for anything Nicolas Cage because his movies are so terrible that they are amazing.
Our wedding was meant to be held near the Caucasus Mountains in 2020 but the world had other plans. With family and friends spread all around the world and borders still closed, we decided to have a secret garden elopement instead, with our darling dog Scooter. No one apart from our vendors knew. We wanted it intimate, surrounded by nature and an abundance of food. We both loved planning it

Hope: I am a Marketing Director at MetLife, working on implementing the Agile Evolution Program. I love to be outside as much as possible. Lately, this has looked like tending my garden and growing flowers for my home.
Nikita — I’m a film/commercial producer. Matt owns and runs Shared Space. Our family includes our little boy Arthur and our miniature dachshund, Archie. We met on a blind date in 2014, which was a bit comical as neither of us had been on a blind date before. We ran into a few of Matt’s friends from high school, which added to the humor.
Jack — Jucinta is a flame that cannot be put out. A wildfire, if you like. The three times we met before we got together proved how small the world can be and not to take any moment for granted, no matter how insignificant it may seem.

George and I are currently living in South London after a four year stint in Sydney. However, being unable to sit still for too long, we are in the process of planning a move to Southern California. George works in the accelerator space, building technology for individuals living with disability, and I work in international public relations. As you can tell by our change of ongoing change of continents to call home, we love living in new places and experiencing new ways of life.
Dane —— I’m a GP and Scotty is a partner at a Tauranga law firm. He hates conflict so works in property and trust, which was very handy when purchasing our first home together and also works in my favour when I want something my way! We play sports, have a pub quiz team, and have the surf at our doorstep in Mt Maunganui. We also have two boys – Harrison (10) and George(8) – who keep us busy.
