Maddie + Elliott by Smith & Archer

Elliott and I actually went to school together – primary and secondary, so we’ve known each other a long time! We first dated in high school (year 11) for a whole 63 days (we know because Elliott kept a diaryfrom the time!). Five years after that, after going on an overseas trip together with another friend, we got back to Australia and gave it another go!

Jemima + Craig by Lauren Campbell

I’m an arts therapist in private practice and Craig is a sense rugby coach and learning support assistant at a special school. Maddie + Tom by Ash Muir

“I was still in high school and Tom was a bit older than me, but from first sight we both knew there was something different about each other. We knew it would be a bit weird to start dating while I was still in school, so, ballsy 17 year old me marched up to tom and told him if he waited 18 months for me he could take me on our first date.”

Isabelle + Michael by Salt Atelier

We come from similar but different cultural backgrounds. I’m a mix of Armenian and English, and Michael’s family is Middle Eastern. Our unique connection is that our families both hail from cities in Israel. Michael works as a startup manager in a state government agency. He’s a real people person. I’m a doctor, still in specialty training - I also love to help people, but in a different way. Our careers and days are quite disparate, but we celebrate our differences.

Gemma + Nick by Haute Weddings

“We met at a restaurant in Parnell, I don’t think there was a definitive moment I knew Nick was my person, when we met we just sort of became inseparable - we moved in together after three months of knowing one another and ended up buying an apartment together after three months of living with one another, I think both of these things were out of character for both of us. It sounds very cliché but I think the saying ‘when you know, you know’ is very true.”

TJ Iconic Wedding Ruth + Evan by Nectarine

We are bringing back an edit of our top-performing real weddings from the TJ archives. These are our very best weddings that our audience has loved the most, and the ones we think are still very relevant and aspirational.

Evan and I met in Europe, ended up staying in the same hostel in Berlin, and discovered we were both from Perth. Often when travelling, you chat and then never see them again, but some months later, we both happened to be at the Raffles Hotel in Applecross.

Simone + Sai by Love Good Images

Tell us a little about yourselves, what you do, what you love…

I  am an audiologist and Sai is an engineer. We both come from very different upbringings and when we were first getting to know each other we realised we are very very different people. Having those differences has made our relationship pretty exciting. I really love baking and, after styling our wedding, I’d really love to get into that a bit more! Sai loves boxing and is a devoted Carlton supporter (poor thing).
