Jaz & Bradley by Coralee Stone

Tell us a little about yourselves, what you do, what you love, what is unique about you and your relationship…

Both of us grew up in small country towns and ended up going to the same local high school.

We are high school sweethearts and have been together ever since. I am an Operations and Sales Rep in Freight Forwarding and Bradley is a Machine Operator in the Forestry Industry. Together, we love spending time with friends, family and going on adventures with our Labrador Rubi. My love for travel has rubbed off on Bradley and we are always planning the next weekend getaway or overseas adventure.

Tell us about your special day, was there a specific theme or style? Tell us a little about the setting, the styling and some of your favourite details…

We wanted a venue that had an amazing view, was modern, and we didn’t have to clean up after ourselves! Kauri Bay Boomrock was all of those things and beyond. The view and quietness of the property is just amazing and so peaceful. Our style was very simple and minimal as the venue is already so beautiful and we didn’t want to take anything away from the architecture. We wanted our wedding to be filled with good company, great wine and amazing food and I think we completely nailed it.

Tell us about your main outfits:

My dress was a simple and classic ivory gown with a slimming silhouette, small cap sleeves and a deep V neck line with a shimmer mesh covering to hold shape. This was a pre-loved dress by bridal designer Anna Schimel purchased from Secret lace bridal in Kumeu. Bradley wore a modern slim fitting black suit with a traditional black bow tie to complement the outfit and our bridal party who were also in black suits and black dresses. He was such a handsome groom!

What were some of the most memorable/unique moments from the day?

From the beginning to the end, our day was so memorable. Celebrating with all of our favourite friends and family including our Labrador Rubi who made it to the ceremony which was officiated. Our mums also signed the registry which we kept a surprise. This was also such a significant and special part of our day. We were also lucky enough to have celebrated my grandparents 60th Wedding Anniversary on the same day which was so special and something we will never forget.

Any advice for other couples planning to spend the rest of their lives together?

We have only been married for 6 months, so we feel like we are not qualified to give out advice just yet. It sounds a little cliché, but communication is key. Be each other’s biggest supporters and make time for one another even if it is just doing chores. Go on adventures and make the most of everyday.
