Tell us a little about yourselves, what you do, what you love, what is unique about you and your relationship…

Gareth and I met as teenagers while we were both competing in motorcross. We were highschool sweethearts and have been together ever since.

I (Kate) am in my final year as a student midwife and Gareth is an automotive technician.

As a couple we have always loved the outdoors and high adrenaline sports. Together we love getting outdoors, adventuring and exploring what our country has to offer.

Tell us about your special day, was there a specific theme or style? Tell us a little about the setting, the styling and some of your favourite details…

We wanted a low key but beautiful wedding. Our focus was on family and friends enjoying themselves and celebrating our love.

Tallie from Relish and Rollick really brought together a casual style and feel for the day, with lounge furniture and bar leaners scattered throughout the reception area leaving guests free to mingle, rather than feeling confined to their allocated seats. Tallie also focused on the finer details with gorgeous florals in deep colours and beautifully styled grazing tables with delicious food for guests to feast on.

We wanted a wedding that was a relaxed vibe with our closest friends and family. Something that was not over the top but still had a few of those traditional wedding elements.

I’d like to say we were pretty relaxed about the whole thing until a week out when we realised what we had got ourselves into, especially having a  wedding at home. Gareth’s sister Tallie of Relish & Rollick, was a lifesaver!  We put our complete trust in her to basically organise our whole day with the styling, the amazing food, organising furniture and all the tiny details that made our day so special and unique. She is an absolute goddess enjoying themselves and celebrating our love.

Tell us about your main outfits:

Brides Dress: I wanted something simple that complimented my personality and me. Nothing too over the top and I think my dress did just that. My dress was by Daisy by Katie Yeung.

Grooms attire: We wanted a relaxed and casual look but still sophisticated.  Gareth is not one to wear a suit terribly often so this suit from Barkers was perfect. He felt comfortable as well as looking smart.

What were some of the most memorable/unique moments from the day?

A particularly poignant moment was at the end of our ceremony walking down the aisle as man and wife accompanied by our precious pooch Macie.

And the food- OH MY GOODNESS – the food 😊

Any advice for other couples planning to spend the rest of their lives together? Be organised well ahead and don’t try to be too cool calm and collected about everything.
