Kellie & Eddie by House of Lucie

Tell us a little about yourselves, what you do, what you love, what is unique about you and your relationship…

Hello, our names are Edward and Kellie. We started dating around 5 years ago and pleasantly got engaged together in late 2017 whilst holidaying in Europe together, Edward dropped the knee whilst perched on a clifftop somewhere above the coastal town of Positano, Italy.

We relocated from Sydney to the Gold coast late last year and have been loving the decision, we are currently trying to buy our first house together to call a home. Kellie is a Cabin Manager for an airline company and spends her work hours flying both domestic and internationally. Edward is an Arborist for a tree company and spends his time swinging around in trees with a chainsaw or operating machinery onsite. Although work keeps us busy we cherish and love spending time out in nature and the bush, wether it’s hikes in the mountains, swims in secluded water holes or just surfing together this is what brings us peace, pleasure and happiness.

Tell us about your special day, was there a specific theme or style? Tell us a little about the setting, the styling and some of your favourite details…

We had a vision in mind when it came to selecting a venue which was to be a large open venue with trees and grassy areas with some views to go. This lead us to search for venues which were on farm style estates. Kellie searched hard comparing venues and prices all the way from the south coast, Sydney and Byron Bay before finding the perfect venue at Fins Plantation House located just west of Kingscliff on the NSW north coast. On the big day we had some rain which was followed by one of the most surreal sunsets we have ever seen across across the ranges with Mount Warning in the backdrop. Sunset photos with Khara form House of Lucie was great fun as she had us jumping fences and heading off through paddocks for that perfect shot.

Tell us about your main outfits:

Edwards and the groomsmen’s tuxedos were all ASOS branded skinny fit wool tuxedos purchased off asos.com which was a quick and easy process and the boys all had a small amount of tailoring done on arrival to get that perfect fit. Kellies dress was Made with Love, Georgie Dress and Lack of Color hat.

What were some of the most memorable/unique moments from the day?

The ceremony of course, watching Kellie walk down that isle with cherished family and friends present watching our love commitment through marriage was an intense feeling knowing that this was to be the next step in laying our personal feelings for one another on the table. We usually wouldn’t want the spotlight to be on us for the daily but it’s epic for just one day.

Any advice for other couples planning to spend the rest of their lives together?

Try to celebrate each others lives, continually trying to do small things that will add value and happiness to one another. Make each others love feel appreciated because everyone will be a better person if they feel protected, supported and warmth. Be proud of one another and never do anything that your partner may not be proud of as the old saying of treat others as how you would like to be treated yourself rings true.
