Matt happens to be my brother’s best friend, who moved into my old family home with my brother after I vacated in early 2012. We used to spend time together hanging out at family dinners and gatherings. After ten months or so we started training together for a running event. This soon turned into dinner dates and we have been together ever since.
We knew we wanted to keep our wedding day intimate and all about family. My parents live just up the road from the amazing cliff that we were married on, from the first day we visited we dreamt of getting married there. We had our reception at my parent’s house, to keep it private and personal. We had many favourite moments on our wedding day. A huge stand out was our entire bridal party was made up of siblings, and brother and sister-in-laws. Let’s just say there was a lot of love in the air that day! Another funny moment happened the night before the wedding when the groom and best man exchanged presents, it turned out they had got each other the same thing! After commuting from the South Coast up to Sydney all week for work, we love to spend our weekends relaxing outdoors and by the beach, eating delicious food and drinking wine. Matt loves sport, playing and watching it, while I love cooking. We have so much in common and we almost share a birthday – we were born only a few hours apart! We love singing loudly (and badly) to 80’s music, which makes our daily commute pretty interesting. We are both blessed with amazing friends and family who we love to catch up with whenever possible. We understand and respect each other. We try our best to make each other as happy as possible. We love doing absolutely nothing but we also love travelling and going on adventures together. We are supportive to one another. I tolerate hours of cricket and he tolerates hours of me watching the television show Offspring. Matt is the funniest, kindest and most generous person I have ever met. He says I am loving, cheeky and thoughtful and together we make an awesome team! Marriage for us means a lifetime of joint birthdays and a lifetime of all kinds of other celebrations. We have so many things to look forward to together.
