Tell us a little about yourselves, what you do, what you love, what is unique about you and your relationship…

We’re friends first and foremost and that says a lot about our relationship! We love traveling together and exploring, trying new things, laughing all day, and each other.

We’ve been together almost 7 years. Nate is an engineer and I’m a makeup artist. We’re chalk and cheese but we share the same principles and sense of humour so it’s working out quite well.

Tell us about your special day, was there a specific theme or style? Tell us a little about the setting, the styling and some of your favourite details…

We didn’t have any specifc theme or style in mind but the Anteloping team put together the most beautiful scene without any direction! Florals, handmade ceramics and rose gold decorated the wooden bench where we ate. The setting itself was already made by the national park, the trees reflected both forest and tropical paradise and the cicadas were deaffening.

Tell us about your main outfits:

Maddy: I wore a long sleeved ivory dress with embroidered doves and flowers from Zimmermann and black leather embossed boots with detailed silver and jade hardware from Camilla. My engagement ring was designed Heidi Gibson in LA and my moon and star earrings were from Five and Two Jewelry. Ash made me a beautiful flower crown to match my bouquet!

Nate: My pants were from Topman and my white shirt was from Saba – nice and simple! The suspenders were my splurge and they are from JJ Suspenders.

What were some of the most memorable/unique moments from the day?

Seeing each other after getting ready “for the first time” before saying I do while ‘Northern Wind’ by City and Colour played in the background.

Climbing down a rock face to a boulder resting by a fallen tree to do the ceremony – it was about 5 degrees cooler down there and totally hidden away; our own little private spot to remember always.

Standing under a huge waterfall at the end of our hike down to Gap Creek Falls to take photos, so much fun.

Any advice for other couples planning to spend the rest of their lives together?

Take it all in your stride and don’t lose sight of why you’re getting married. I know it seems cliché but just enjoy yourself and take moments to look at the bigger picture. Best day ever.
