Tell us a little about yourselves, what you do, what you love, what is unique about you and your relationship…
We have been together for nearly 8 years. Melissa works in an advertising agency in Auckland and Charlie works for his family’s business designing and installing playgrounds across New Zealand.

We’re obsessed with our little French Bulldog pup, Gigi, who is 2, life definitely revolves around her. Family and friends are everything to us so we try to spend as much time with them as possible.

Tell us about your special day, was there a specific theme or style? Tell us a little about the setting, the styling and some of your favourite details…

As cliché as it may sound, it was the best day of our lives and couldn’t have been more perfect. We loved every single moment of it, from the morning of with family and friends, to the very last dance at the end of the night, everything was perfect!

We didn’t have much of a theme, we just wanted something that was simple & minimalistic as that would best replicate our personal style. Along with having a nice indoor/outdoor flow with a relaxed vibe for our loved ones. Two Foxes were an absolute dream to work with. They were fully onboard with our minimalistic style and completely nailed it with plenty of simple greenery, crisp white stationary, candles, natural linen and gold cutlery.

Melissa’s one dream for the wedding was to have timber framing built for the ceremony to represent a chapel look in the outdoors. Lucky for them, Charlie is a builder by trade so was able to build it and make the dream a reality. So that was of course the favourite for us. And each marrying our best friend, naturally!

We wanted a place that was surrounded with nature, but mostly we needed somewhere that would allow us to set up the ceremony framing. Kauri Bay Boomrock was the first place we saw and we fell in love straight away – how can you not with the beautiful view?! This created a perfect setting for the perfect day.

Tell us about your main outfits:

I wore a skirt and top both from Lola Varma in Perth, Australia. I was looking for something simple and minimal and after hunting around for a few months in NZ, I couldn’t find anything local that I liked. Charlie and I had best friends living in Perth at the time, so we decided to make a trip out of it. As soon as I tried the stunning Parvia top and Delfina skirt combo on, I was in love and knew it was a perfect, chic representation of my style and what I needed to get married in!

Charlie was in a classic slim black suit from Barkers, with a slim black tie and black brogues and looked like a total dream boat!

What were some of the most memorable/unique moments from the day?

For Melissa, I absolutely loved the day before when all our family and friends started to gather and then getting ready with my girls and beautiful mum the day of the wedding was so cool! Walking down the aisle with my dad and seeing Charlie waiting for me was the other most special moment for me! For Charlie, my favourite moment was seeing Melissa walk down the aisle looking smoking hot. My best man’s speech was pretty hilarious so that’s another stand out for me – it had everyone in the room laughing which was perfect (and a surprise lol).

Any advice for other couples planning to spend the rest of their lives together?

Be you! Don’t get too carried away in how everything looks, current styles and trends and what other people think. Stick true to what’s important to you both as a couple and you’ll be on the right track.
