Robin—I was hoisted 15 feet high on a scissor lift, painting a mural for a local brewery when Joe first spotted me in paint-splattered cutoffs. We are both entrepreneurs. Joe designs and owns restaurants, and I am an artist and photographer. Joe knew for quite some time that he was ready to pop the question.
Tell us all the great details about your engagement. We met as freshers in our first week at Cambridge University. As luck would have it, our rooms were in the same halls at Pembroke College, which is where we quickly became part of a lovely group of friends, and then not long after became a couple.
We’re both architects and we run our own design-build firm in Brooklyn. We love working on design projects together. The process is always exciting: thinking together, drawing, making diagrams and problem solving.
