Without a doubt, this is a luxurious scent. Your eyes drink in the bottle first and the packaging is luxe in itself. We all know I’m a fan of perfumes with a hint of spice in it and the combination of the pink peppercorn, patchouli, and raw cacao is just so fascinating and wonderful to smell in the air. They pair with that striking top note of Turkish rose essence so well. You open the bottle and the headiness of this eau de parfum hits you immediately. A big plus for me: it goes from daytime to evening effortlessly. If you’re a bride looking for a sensual floral fragrance or your dear mother is a fan of those, pick this one up. Julien Rasquinet composed Rose Rouge around two ingredients combining exceptional qualities: voluptuous and naturally fruity Turkish rose essence and the Rose Essential note; a combination of the finest rose essences. This singular composition immediately transports us to the heart of the flower recalling the gentle touch of fresh petals on the skin. “I wanted to respect the nobility of these extremely precious ingredients while giving them real modernity,” admits perfumer Julien Rasquinet. “That is why I wanted to pair this bouquet with haughty woods and an unexpected touch of raw cacao.”
In the top notes, a frosty wisp of pink peppercorn leads us towards the bouquet heart of Turkish rose and Rose Essential. Burgundy blackcurrant absolute adds an acidic and subtly sweet aroma. Vetiver and patchouli gradually take hold of this floral profusion to give the rose majestic elegance. On the skin, a hint of bitter cacao echoes the patchouli before melting into musk.
